The Lohr Learning Commons

Located on the 2nd floor of the Carl A. Rudisill Library, the Lohr Learning Commons draws together a suite of academic services, learning and computer labs, co-curricular programs, and enrichment opportunities that support and enhance the educational pursuits of Lenoir-Rhyne students.

Some of the University's most welcoming professors, instructors and approved students assist with writing, public speaking, general learning strategies and course-specific tutoring. Students may also explore study-abroad and study-away opportunities, as well as community service projects and programs. Education majors or students interested in teaching can peruse the materials in the Education Curriculum and Resource Center. Students can also jump online in either of the two largest computer labs on campus.

Newly created in January, 2010, the Learning Commons maintains a lively atmosphere and has quickly become a favorite spot for many students. The area includes a large general area with movable tables and chairs, and accommodates individuals, small groups and large gatherings. The area includes vending and comfortable study nooks that overlook some of the most beautiful scenery on campus.

Comments, questions and suggestions regarding the Learning Commons are welcomed and should be directed to Carla Fowler, Assistant Coordinator of Student Engagement and the Lohr Learning Commons, at or (828) 328-7622.
